What is a Precinct Committeeman?

Precinct Committeemen (PC) are the building block of the Republican party. Becoming a PC is a great way to get involved with the Republican party at a grassroots level. We are the closest political officers to the voters, and interact regularly with party officials. A PC elects district, county and state party officers, delegates to the Presidential convention and RNC members.

What does a PC do?

Many PCs participate in their own way and have their own special skills to offer to the party. We encourage all PCs to be active members to help grow the Republican party and win elections. We expect PCs to do the following duties:

Promote the Republican Party.
Attend a once a year mandatory Republican county meeting to vote on county leadership, resolutions, and bylaws.
Attend our monthly meetings to remain up to date on issues and receive important regular updates.
Door knocking in nearby neighborhoods for Get Out The Vote efforts.
Bring your unique skills to help the Republican party!

How do I qualify?

Qualifying to be a PC is simple, you must: be a registered Republican, and there must be vacant PC spots in your precinct.

How long is the term for a PC?

PCs are elected in August of even-numbered years. The term of a PC lasts until the day of the next primary election (2 years total).

- - Only elected PCs can run for district, county or state leadership.
  - Elects district leadership at Organizational meeting.
  - Elects County Executive Committee and County Member at Large positions at Statutory Meeting.
  - Votes on County Bylaws and Resolutions at Statutory Meeting.
  - Selects candidates should there be a legislative vacancy.
  - Eligible to run for State Committeemen positions.
  - TO RETAIN OFFICE, CURRENT PC’s MUST RUN FOR RE-ELECTION EVERY TWO (2) YEARS.
